Senior forward Sam Cherney helped the WSU women's basketball program start 2-0 in the brand-new Wayne State Fieldhouse with wins over Lake Erie and Walsh. On Friday ve. LEC she pulled down 14 rebounds and blocked five shots to go with six points. In an important regional win over Walsh, the Farmington Hills native poured in 25 points and collected 17 boards, while blocking four more shots.
