George Day (Southampton, United Kingdom / Peter Symonds College) helped lead the No. 16-ranked Wayne State men's tennis squad to a 7-0 sweep over Davenport in the team's first GLIAC contest.  Day and his partner Thomas Mathys (Grimisuat, Switzerland / ECCG - Martigny) posted a 7-5 win in the No. 2 doubles position, as the pairing improved to 9-3 in the spring portion of the campaign.  Competing in the No. 1 singles position, Day dropped his first set 6-2, before firing back with a 6-0 win in the second to force a third set.  The Warrior closed his match with a 6-3 triumph in the final set to secure the win.
