BOSTON -- The Wayne State University women's hockey team (2-4-0 overall) lost a
4-1 decision at sixth-ranked Boston University (4-1-0 overall) Saturday afternoon.
The Warriors led 1-0 after 20 minutes on an unassisted goal by
Julie Ingratta at the 15:03 mark despite being out-shot by the hosts 15-4.
The Terriers peppered the WSU net for 19 shots in the middle stanza and scoring three times.
Holly Lorms marker at the 11:27 mark tied the game at one, while Jenn Wakefield tallied the game-winning goal at the 17:26 mark.
Jenelle Kohanchuk scored six seconds later for a 3-1 BU advantage.
Jill Cardela completed the scoring with a lamp-lighter with only 4:35 left in the contest.
Delayne Brian made 40 saves in the Wayne State net, while Kerrin Sperry was credited with 24 saves.
Both teams failed to score a special teams goal as WSU went 0-for-4 on the power play and BU was 0-for-2 with the skater advantage.
Wayne State continues its eight-game road trip next Friday and Saturday at Colgate.
