Kissimmee, Fla. -- The fourth-ranked Wayne State University softball team (13-3 overall) rebounded from a shutout loss on Saturday by recording an 
8-3 triumph over Lynn University (15-11 overall) Sunday morning as part of the 
2010 Rebel Spring Games.
The Warriors snapped the scoreless draw with two runs on one hit in the top of the second.  Sophomore first baseman 
Becca Ryan (Westland, Mich. / Dearborn Divine Child) led off the frame with a walk.  Senior left fielder 
Stephanie LeClair# (Kitchener, Ont. / Forest Heights C.I.) followed with a bunt single.  Sophomore second baseman 
Lauren Histed (Shelby Twp., Mich. / Utica) advanced both runners with a sacrifice bunt.  Ryan scored on freshman center fielder Steph Foreman's (Cambridge, Ont. / Preston) sacrifice fly, while LeClair crossed home plate on an error by the Fighting Knights.
WSU added three runs in the third for a 5-0 lead.  Sophomore third baseman 
Rebecca Stanley (Waterloo, Ont. / Waterloo C.I.) had a one-out single and moved to third on a double by redshirt freshman catcher 
Brittany Omelanchuk (Brooklin, Ont. / Wilson S.S.).  Ryan's single up the middle plated Stanley, while Omelanchuk scored on LeClair's single through the left side.  Histed's bunt single loaded the bases with Foreman's second sacrifice fly of the contest plating Ryan.
After Lynn University scored once in the bottom of the third, the Warriors responded with another three-run inning in the fourth.  Sophomore right fielder 
Alison Allen (Redford, Mich. / Farmington Hills Mercy) singled and was safe at second on a throwing error.  Stanley's infield single scored Allen, while senior shortstop 
Jaci Banton (Richmond Hill, Ont. / Cardinal Carter) crossed home plate on Omelanchuk's second double of the contest.  LeClair's sacrifice fly plated Stanley with WSU's final run.
Senior 
Nicole Abel (Kitchener, Ont. / St. Mary's) started in the circle for Wayne State and allowed seven hits and three unearned runs in five innings to improve her record to 3-0.  Abel struck out three and walked one.  Classmate 
Casey Hanes (Richmond, Va. / Douglas Freeman) retired six of the seven batters she faced allowing just one hit.
Cristie Kaufman pitched the entire game for Lynn allowing 12 hits and eight runs, five earned, with two strikeouts and one walk.
Allen, Stanley, Omelanchuk and LeClair each had two hits for WSU.
