Columbus, Ohio -- The Wayne State University volleyball squad (14-9 overall, 8-4 GLIAC) snapped a three-match losing streak with a 3-0 triumph Friday evening at Ohio Dominican (10-13 overall, 4-8 GLIAC).

The win was just the second in the last eight matches for the Warriors.

WSU won the first set 25-15, then recorded wins of 25-19 and 25-16 to close out the match.

In the opening set, Wayne State scored the first four points and never led by fewer than three the rest of the set.

The second set was tied four times in the first 10 points, the last coming at 5-5.  The Warriors won six of the next seven points to open an 11-6 advantage, before the Panthers responded with a 6-2 run to pull within one at 13-12.  WSU answered by winning nine of the next 11 points for a 22-14 lead prompting ODU's second timeout of the set.  Four consecutive points by Ohio Dominican included three straight service aces by Kelsey Barker to make it 22-18.  Wayne State won three of the final four points to claim the set.

The third set was tied at 1-1 before the Warriors won four consecutive points to open a 5-1 advantage.  Wayne State's lead remained between three and five points until the score was 11-7, when WSU tallied six straight points for a 10-point margin at 17-7.  Wayne State's advantage was never less than six the rest of the way.

Kristen Bulkiewicz (LaSalle, Ont. / Sandwich) had a match-high 14 kills, while senior setter Cydney Biessel (Ruby, Mich. / Yale) had 30 assists. Lindsey Graciak (Westland, Mich. / Livonia Churchill) recorded a match-best 22 digs along with two service aces.  Candice Ottey (Ajax. Ont.) hit .500 for the match with nine kills and no errors in 18 attack attempts.

The victory keeps WSU in the lead in the GLIAC South Division, one match ahead of both Ashland and Malone.

The Warriors visit Tiffin for a 2 p.m. match on Saturday.
