Men's Swimming Falls to Eastern Michigan, 164-79

DETROIT
– The Wayne State University men's swimming and diving team dropped a 164-79 contest to Eastern Michigan University Friday afternoon in its first home dual meet of the season.
 
The Warrior 200 medley relay team of Ivan Udalov (Saint-Petersburg, Russia), Piotr Jachowicz (Lodz, Poland), Nathan Hesche (Jackson, Mich.) and Kristian Larsen (Frederiksberg, Denmark) took first place in a time of 1:32.16.
 
Jachowicz also placed first for WSU in the 200 individual medley in a time of 1:48.63. Larsen took second place for the Warriors in the 500 freestyle in a time of 4:42.70.
 
Joaquin Abascal Gallegos (Madrid, Spain) took first in the 200 breaststroke in a time of 2:06.30 and finished in third place in the 200 breaststroke in a time of 1:54.76 for WSU. Cameron Weaver (Davison, Mich.) earned a third-place finish, also in the 200 breaststroke, with a time of 2:14.27.
 
Darrin Driesenga (Holland, Mich. /West Ottawa) finished first in the 1-meter diving event for WSU, finishing with 287.18 points. Dylan Szegedi (Oregon, Ohio) placed third for the Warriors in 1-meter diving event (278.10 points) and fourth in the 3-meter diving competition (272.55 points).
 
Jachowicz, Udalov, Larsen and Ben Winn (Washington, Mich. /Romeo) teamed up for WSU in the 200 freestyle relay to place second in a time of 1:24.93.
 
Lucas Fernandez Vilanova (Valencia, Spain) took second for the Warriors in the 200 breaststroke in a time of 1:50.77 and swan to a third place finish in the 200 freestyle in a time of 1:45.66.
 
The Warriors return to action at 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9 in a home dual meet against Calvin College.
