DETROIT - The Wayne State University men's tennis team (4-5, 2-0 GLIAC) kept the conference run going with an 8-1 win over Tiffin on Friday in the Multi-Purpose Indoor Facility.
The Warriors swept the doubles play with the third flight going to a tiebreaker as
Mohamed Fazyl Kechai (Paris, France / Martin Luther King) and
Thomas Ducret (Paris, France) picking up a 9-8 (7-0) victory to give WSU a 3-0 lead headed to singles play.
Aman Gill (Windsor, Ont. / Assumption College HS) was strong today after picking up a point in first doubles he kept things going at first singles with a 6-2, 6-2 straight sets victory. Ducret also grabbed a solid win at third singles 6-0, 6-1.
Michael FitzGerald (Grosse Ile, Mich.) and Jon Grosek (Dearborn Heights, Mich. / Divine Child) were straight set winners at fifth and sixth singles with 6-4, 6-3 and 6-1, 6-2 wins respectively.
The Warriors next square off with Ohio Dominican on Saturday in the Multi-Purpose Indoor Facility at 10:00 am.
