DETROIT --
Wayne State University (23-11, 13-5) led the entire game against Tiffin (17-18, 11-9) on Tuesday and collected a 10-6 victory. It was the eighth time that WSU has scored double-digit runs this season.

Eric Cunningham led the offesne with a 3-for-4 day with two RBI and two runs scored. Kyle Zimmerman (3-2) went seven innings, allowing three earned runs and striking out eight.

The Green & Gold scored three runs in the third inning on four hits. Brad Guenther, Cunningham and Chris Gebara all collected RBI in the inning.

Tiffin answered quickly and tied the game with three runs of its own in the fourth inning. Nick Calandra highlighted the scoring with a two-run double to right center field.

Kasey Koster began the fifth inning with a double and scored on Cunningham's single up the middle to give the Warriors a 4-3 advantage. In the sixth inning, WSU doubled its lead with another run. Kenny Davis doubled to left center field and Jermey Carrell followed with a RBI-single through the left side.

A throwing error and a sacrifice fly from Travis Rodery plated two runs in the seventh, making it 7-3.

The Dragons scored a run in the eighth on a RBI-double from Ryan Williams. Taylor Horn struck out the next two hitters to end the inning.

The Warriors broke the game open with three runs in the eighth powered by a two-run single from Justin Sherman into shallow right field. Koster also had a RBI-double in the frame.

Tiffin would not go quietly in the ninth as Clayton Ruch entered in a non-save situation. Ruch retied the first hitter of the inning but then allowed the next three Dragons to reach. A fielding error allowed the inning to continue. KC Weber singled home a run before another run scored on a throwing error on the same play. Ruch would retire Williams with a groundout to shortstop to give WSU its 10th win in 11 games.

Wayne State will return to WSU Baseball Field on Wednesday against Findlay. The two teams will finish a suspended game from April 10, which is tied, 2-2, in the fifth inning. A nine-inning contest will follow the completion of the suspended game.
