Men's Tennis Falls 5-1 In GLIAC Semifinals

Midland, Mich. -- The Wayne State University men's tennis team (13-7) dropped a 5-1 decision to Ferris State University (15-4 overall) in a GLIAC Tournament semifinal match on Saturday at the Midland Community Tennis Center.

The Warriors fell behind 3-0 after doubles play dropping all three flights by the identical score of 8-5.

Jason Chen (Rochester Hills, Mich. / Rochester Adams) recorded a 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 6 singles to make it 3-1, but FSU won 6-0, 7-5 at third singles and 6-3, 6-4 at first singles to end the match.

The squads met 17 days ago in Detroit with WSU posting a 6-3 victory.  Wayne State won at first and third doubles, and recorded four singles victories at No. 3 through No. 6 singles.

The Warriors will face Ohio Dominican on Sunday morning in the third-place match.
