MIDLAND, Mich.
-- After posting an 8-3 GLIAC record and finishing in a tie for second in the GLIAC regular season standings, the Wayne State University men's tennis team will open the 2014 GLIAC Tournament as the No. 4 seed in the eight-team field. The Warriors (9-8 overall) are set to face fifth-seeded Tiffin University (15-9 overall, 8-3 GLIAC) in a first-round tournament matchup. The match is set to start at 6:45 p.m. at the Midland Community Tennis Center in Midland, Mich.

Wayne State has qualified for the GLIAC Tournament in all six seasons under head coach Bryan Morrow. The Warriors have finished fourth or better in all five previous GLIAC Tournaments under Morrow. Last season, WSU placed fourth in the league tournament after finishing in second place in the GLIAC regular season standings.

WSU defeated Tiffin earlier in the season, winning 6-3 against the Dragons in Ohio on March 21 in Wayne State's first league match of the season. The Warriors could potentially face top-seeded Northwood in the second round. Wayne State lost to the Timberwolves in the final match of the regular season, 6-3. Northwood is also the defending tournament champions.
