DETROIT -- The Wayne State University men's tennis team (6-6, 2-1 GLIAC) returned to action on Saturday morning with an 8-1 win over Tiffin (6-13, 2-3 GLIAC) inside the Multipurpose Indoor Facility.
Wayne State won all three doubles matches to take an early 3-0 lead. Redshirt senior
Trey Keating (Troy, Mich.) and freshman
Luke Ruocco (Lewes, England) were victorious at No. 1 doubles 8-6. The duo of redshirt senior
Gopinath Menta (Hyderabad, India) and junior
Mohamed Fazyl Kechai (Paris, France) won at the second flight of doubles, 8-2. Freshman
Harvey Reed (Winchester, Hampshire, England) and sophomore
Ryan Carlson (Armada, Mich.) won at No. 3 doubles 8-5.
Fazyl Kechai topped his opponent at No. 1 singles 6-2, 6-2.
Clement Charriere (Marseille, France) won 6-3, 6-2 at second flight singles while Keating won No. 3 singles 6-1, 7-5.
Menta won at No. 4 singles 6-2, 6-4 and Carlson improved to a team-best 8-7 this season with a 6-3, 7-5 win at No. 6 singles.
Tiffin's lone victory of the morning came at No. 5 singles as Reed lost 6-4, 6-3.
The Warriors will host Findlay on Sunday at 10 AM.
