Johnson breaks school record; Balfour sets personal best.

WALNUT, Calif. -- At the 57th annual Mt. SAC Relays, junior Chelsea Johnson (Oxford, Mich.) broke her own school record in the 3K steeplechase that she set a week ago at the Tennessee Sea Relays.  Johnson placed sixth in a time of 10:34.70.

Classmate Kayla Balfour (St. Clair, Mich.) improved on her NCAA Provisional time in the 10K with a personal best time of 35:27.53 to finish 17th.

Sophomore Leah Coonrod (Kalamazoo, Mich. / Gull Lake) competed in the 3K steeplechase at the Cal State LA Twilight Open and placed second in a time of 12:04.08.

Many members of the Wayne State University track and field squad will be competing today at the Centre College (Danville, Ky.) Track and Field Twilight meet beginning with the women's hammer competition at noon.
