HILLSDALE, Mich. -- Four members of the Wayne State University women's track and field squad competed on Thursday at the Hillsdale Last Chance Classic.
In the 100m hurdles, freshman
Karrington Seals (Farmington Hills, Mich. / North Farmington) placed fifth in the finals with a school record time of 14.22. She was sixth in the prelims with a 14.30.
Also competing in the 100m hurdles was sophomore
Christina Kollien (Alpena, Mich.), who finished in a time of 14.79.
Sophomore
Dazmonique Carr (Lawnside, N.J. / Haddon Heights) placed sixth in the 400m race with a time of 57.18.
Freshman
Jessie Kluz (Sterling Heights, Mich. / Sterling Heights/MMSTC) participated in the high jump.
NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- Three distance runners for Wayne State competed on Thursday at the Dr. Keeler Track and Field Invitational being hosted by North Central College.
Junior
Chelsea Johnson (Oxford, Mich.) was second in the 5k with a time of 17:14.64, while classmate
Kayla Balfour (St. Clair, Mich.) placed sixth in a time of 17:24.05. Senior
Kayla Smade (Columbus, Mich. / St. Clair) was unable to finish the race.
Both Smade (1500m) and Johnson (800m) will be competing on Friday in Naperville as the Warriors are sending competitors to three different places on Friday in an effort to improve upon provisional qualifying marks.
Four throwers -
Lauren Bohn,
Elizabeth Herriman,
Erika Perry and
Dallas Porter will be participating on Friday at the GVSU Second Last Chance Meet and in Saturday's Last Chance Meet in Allendale.
The four participants from Hillsdale on Thursday will be competing at Toledo on Friday, while Smade, Balfour and Johnson will be running on Saturday at GVSU.
