ALLENDALE, Mich. -- Seven members of the Wayne State University women's track and field squad competed on Saturday at the GVSU Last Chance Meet.
Sophomore
Elizabeth Herriman (Adrian, Mich. / Sand Creek) broke her own school record in the javelin with a provisional toss of 44.39m (145-08).
Junior
Erika Perry (Romeo, Mich.) had a provisional throw in the hammer with a toss of 51.68m (168-11). Freshman
Lauren Bohn (Windsor, Ont. / E. J. Lajeunesse Catholic H.S.) also competed in the hammer (45.19m).
Herriman also participated in two other events in Saturday. She had a toss of 12.69m (41-07.75) in the shot put, and 41.86m (137-04) in the discus. Bohn had a toss of 12.05m in the shot put, with freshman
Dallas Porter (Royal Oak, Mich.) having a throw of 36.42m (119-06) in the discus.
Junior
Chelsea Johnson (Oxford, Mich.) had a personal best in the 1500m (4:55.25), while also running the 800m (2:25.70).
Senior
Kayla Smade (Columbus, Mich. / St. Clair) was WSU's top runner in the 1500m finishing third in a time of 4:39.65, while junior
Kayla Balfour (St. Clair, Mich.) had a personal best time of 4:55.32.
