DETROIT -- The Wayne State University men's basketball squad (7-18 overall, 7-15 GLIAC) concluded its 2015-16 campaign Thursday evening with a 82-55 setback at home to the University of Findlay (20-7 overall, 17-5 GLIAC) at the Matthaei.
HOW IT HAPPENEDBoth teams began the contest rather sluggishly with only one made field goal in the first three minutes, that by WSU sophomore guard

Chuck Key (Detroit, Mich. / Cass Tech) gave the hosts a 4-0 advantage at the 16:50 mark.
The Oilers rattled off six consecutive points, before a triple by junior
Michael Lewis (Ann Arbor, Mich. / Huron) regained the lead for the Warriors at 7-6. Key followed with a defensive rebound and another jumper, before sophomore
George Spencer (Detroit, Mich. / Belleville) scored on a steal and fast-break lay-up giving WSU an 11-6 lead at the 12:54 mark.

Joel Ndondo (Ajax, Ont.) scored and junior
Clark Bishop (Detroit, Mich. / Renaissance) went coast-to-coast after grabbing a defensive rebound for a 15-8 advantage.
UF ended the first half on a 29-9 run to lead 37-24 at halftime. Wayne State made just two field goals in the final 10 minutes of the first half.
In the first five minutes of the second half, Findlay continued its scoring onslaught with an 18-7 spurt to lead 55-31 at the 14:55 mark.

LEADING THE WARRIORSFive different players totaled six points apiece for WSU with Lewis grabbing a team-best five rebounds. Moore had a game-high six assists plus three steals.
TEAM STATS RECAPWSU shot 38 percent (21-of-55) from the floor compared to 55 percent (35-of-64) for the Oilers. Wayne State was 3-of-11 from behind the arc for 27 percent, while UF was 9-of-19 (47 percent) on triple tries. The Warriors made 10-of-18 (56 percent) foul shots, while Findlay was just 3-of-9 (33 percent). UF had a 41-31 edge in rebounding along with a 25-9 edge in points off turnovers.
LEADING THE OPPOSITIONMartyce Kimbrough tallied a game-high 19 points to lead three Oilers in double figures. John Staley added 14 points and three steals, while Dylan Kaufman contributed 11 points. Alex White grabbed a game-best nine rebounds.
