PLAINFIELD, Ill. -- The Wayne State University men's tennis squad (5-8 overall) topped Rockhurst University, 5-4, on the second day of the GLIAC/GLVC Crossover being hosted by Lewis University on Thursday morning.
DOUBLE RESULTS - Sophomore
Harvey Reed (Winchester, England) and junior
Ryan Carlson (Armada, Mich.) posted a 8-2 victory over Joe Ibarra and Nicolas Riveros at the second doubles flight, while freshman
Taylor Vane (Southampton, England) and junior
Clement Charriere (Marseille, France) defeated Oskar Unger and Jonas Stropus, 8-4, at No. 1 doubles.

Derek Sammons (Coldwater, Mich.) and senior
Mohamed Fazyl Kechai (Paris, France) fell, 8-4, to Decho Valey and Daniel Chmielewski at the third doubles position.
SINGLES RESULTS - Kechai's two-set win, 7-6(12), 7-5, over Unger at the first singles flight notched the Warriors' 5-4 victory over the Hawks, while Carlson bested Riveros, 6-0, 6-2, at the fifth singles position.
- Charriere beat Valey, 6-3, 6-2, at No. 2 singles, and Sammons was defeated by Ibarra, 6-3, 6-7(4), 6-4, at the sixth singles flight.
- Reed lost in three sets (5-7, 6-4, 7-5) to Chmielewski at the fourth singles position, while Vane fell 6-4, 6-4, to Strompus at No. 3 singles.
UP NEXT- WSU will conclude the GLIAC/GLVC Crossover with a match against Lewis on Saturday at noon in Plainfield, Ill.
