BRADENTON, Fla. -- Wayne State University junior thrower Elizabeth Herriman (Adrian, Mich. / Sand Creek) finished 14th in the javelin event Saturday afternoon on the final day of the 2016 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field national championships being hosted by the IMG Academy.

Herriman's second toss of 44.84m (147-01) was a WSU record by over a foot, but just missed placing her in the top 12 to earn All-America honors.  Last year, Herriman finished 11th with a toss of 44.21m.

A total of 112 women's programs were represented at nationals.

Herriman was the final Wayne State student-athlete competing during the 2015-16 academic year.
