ALLENDALE, Mich.—The Wayne State University men's swimming and diving program met GLIAC rival Grand Valley State in a dual meet on Saturday, but fell short 198-102. The competition was streamed live on ESPN3.
INDIVIDUAL RESULTS
Newcomer
Leo Calice Pagotto de Oliveira (Sao Paulo, Brazil) powered the Warriors to a first-place finish in the 1000 free recording a time of 10:02.19 and freshman
Viktor Holm (Kastrup, Denmark) took second with a time of 10:04.84.
Sophomore
Dima Drobnych (Kryvyi Rih, Ukraine) posted a time of 50.58 to win the 100 back.
Freshman
Ahmed Ahmed (Alexandria, Egypt) was the top swimmer in the 500 free notching a time of 4:47.86.
Sophomore
Rasmus Olsen (Kastrup, Denmark) took the 200 butterfly in 1:55.57.
Freshman
Sasha Palazzo (Verona, Italy) finished second in both the 100 breast (57.13) and the 200 breast (2:07.51)
Ahmed also took second in the 200 free with a time of 1:43.87.
Drobnych garnered a second-place finish in the 200 back with a time of 1:53.15.
RELAY RESULTS
The Warriors finished second in the 400 medley as the quartet of Drobnych, Palazzo, Olsen and junior
Tyler Roshak (Farmington Hills, Mich. / Harrison) posted a time of 3:26.10.
The foursome of Olsen, freshman
Ryan Katulski (Novi, Mich.), Roshak and Drobnych led the way for the Warriors finishing second in the 400 free with a time of 3:10.67.
