TOLEDO -- The Wayne State University men's tennis team concluded day two of play at the Toledo Rocket Invitational Saturday, with senior Harvey Reed (Winchester, Hampshire, England) earning two singles wins.

The Warriors faced opponents from Duquesne and Detroit Mercy, with no team scores.  Reed notched wins against Dane Bendel for the Dukes (6-3, 6-1) and Gvidas Motuzas of the Titans (6-4, 7-5).

Sophomores Daniel Kellenbenz (Büdingen, Germany) and Mats Westkamp (Bonn, Germany), as well as freshman Niklas Kracz (Bottrop, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany) all earned singles wins on Saturday.  Kellenbenz defeated Duquesne's Tyler Smith (6-3, 6-1) before falling 6-0, 6-0 to Detroit's Adam Zychowicz.  Westkamp also earned a win against the Dukes, defeating Drew Akins (6-3, 6-4), while Kracz won over DU's Chris Corrao before a 6-1, 1-6, 10-8 loss to Detroit's Luka Soskic.

Junior Taylor Vane (Southampton, England) and junior Griffin Mertz (Farmington Hills, Mich. / North Farmington) were also in action Saturday. Vane fell 6-2, 6-3 to DU's Jared Issacs and to 6-2, 6-3 UDM's Nathan Ponton.  Mertz was defeated by Adam Blasinsky of the Dukes (6-1, 6-4). Sophomore Jason Potter (Sterling Heights, Mich. / International Academy) also faced the Titans, losing 10-7 in the third set. 

The Warriors also faced the Dukes in three doubles matchups.  Reed and Kellenbenz earned a win over by Bendel and Blasinsky (6-3). Vane and Westkamp fell to Akins and Andrew Ong (7-6), with Kracz pairing with sophomore Derek Sammons (Coldwater, Mich. / Coldwater) for a 6-4 loss to Isaacs and Tim Kane.
