DETROIT -- The Wayne State University men's tennis team (4-7, 1-0 GLIAC), defeated Walsh (10-7, 2-1 GLIAC) 7-2 in the Warriors first conference match of the spring season on Saturday. The match was played inside the Multipurpose Indoor Facility due to rainy conditions in Detroit.
SINGLES RESULTS

Mats Westkamp (Born, Germany) (7-6 (7-5), 6-4), lost his match against the Cavalier's No. 1 singles player.

Clement Charriere (Marseille, France) (3-6, 6-4, 6-0), and teammate
Taylor Vane (Southampton, England) (6-2, 6-2) won their No. 2 and No. 3 singles matches, respectively.

Griffin Mertz (Farmington Hills, Mich. / North Farmington) won his No. 4 singles matchup against Walsh 6-0, 6-2.

Harvey Reed (Winchester, Hampshire, England) (6-3, 6-7 (6-8), 13-11) and
Ryan Carlson (Armada, Mich.) (6-1, 6-3) won their No. 5 and 6 singles matches, respectively.
DOUBLES RESULTS
- Carlson and Reed fell at No. 1 doubles, 3-8.
- Charriere and Vane defeated Walsh University's No. 2 doubles matchup 8-2.
- The duo of Westkamp and Mertz teamed up to win at No. 3 doubles, 8-6.
