Ryan Kelley Honored by Detroit Tigers

Baseball's head coach was named 2018 Team Tigers Coach of the Year

DETROIT -- Head baseball coach Ryan Kelley was honored by the Detroit Tigers on July 5th during "Play Baseball Detroit Day" at Comerica Park.  Prior to first pitch against the Texas Rangers, Kelley was awarded the 2018 Team Tigers Coach of the Year by Tigers Executive Vice President of Business Operations Duane McLean.

Kelley was also joined on field by starting pitcher Jordan Zimmerman and Detroit Police Chief James Craig.  WSU's skipper was honored for his dedication and commitment to baseball and recognized for his longstanding dedication and profound impact on the game of baseball.

"Play Baseball Detroit" is a comprehensive urban youth baseball outreach program dedicated to encouraging and supporting youth baseball and softball programs in the Detroit region.  The multi-faceted program features equipment collections, youth  clinics and school rallies, and has touched the lives of over 120,000 youth since its inception in 2008.
