Men's Tennis Edged 4-3 by Ferris State

Wayne State will meet GVSU on Saturday.

BIG RAPIDS, Mich. -- The Wayne State University men's tennis team (1-5 overall, 0-1 GLIAC) lost 4-3 at Ferris State (6-0 overall, 1-0 GLIAC) on Friday afternoon.
 
DOUBLES
 Sophomore Dom Spicer (London, England) and sophomore Luke Laws (Sunderland, England) won their match at the top flight of doubles, 6-4.
 
Freshman Daniel Grey (Wiesbaden, Germany) and junior Donovan Nguyen (Shelby Township, Mich. / Utica) fell at No. 2 doubles, 6-3.
 
Junior David Solar (Prague, Czech Republic) and freshman Joe Steele (Beverly Hills, Mich.) lost at No. 3 doubles, 7-5.
 
SINGLES
At No. 3 singles, Laws won 6-4, 6-3.
 
At No. 1 singles, Spicer notched a 7-6 (2), 6-2 victory, while Grey won his match at second singles 6-7 (5), 6-2, 6-1.
 
Solar lost at No. 4 singles, 6-2, 3-6, 6-2.
 
Freshman David Pluszczyk (White Lake, Mich. / Lakeland) fell in his No. 5 singles matchup, 6-2, 7-5.
 
In the sixth flight of singles, Steele lost 6-0, 6-1.
 
UP NEXT 
The Warriors will play at GVSU at 3 PM on March 20.
