Men's Tennis Blanks Davenport 4-0 in GLIAC Quarterfinals

The No. 3-seeded Warriors will face No. 2 Grand Valley State in the Semifinals on Saturday.

Box Score MIDLAND, Mich. -- The No. 3-seeded Wayne State University men's tennis team (7-7 overall) swept sixth-seeded Davenport (8-10 overall), 4-0, in the GLIAC Quarterfinals on Friday morning at the Midland Tennis Center.
 
DOUBLES RESULTS
 
Juniors David Solar (Prague, Czech Republic) and Donovan Nguyen (Shelby Township, Mich. / Utica) won 7-5 at No. 2 doubles.
 
At No. 3 doubles, freshmen Daniel Grey (Wiesbaden, Germany) and Joe Steele (Beverly Hills, Mich.) won their match, 6-3.
 
SINGLES RESULTS
 
At No. 1 singles, sophomore Dom Spicer (London, England) won his match, 6-4, 6-2.
 
At No. 3 singles, sophomore Luke Laws (Sunderland, England) clinched the match for the Warriors winning, 6-1, 0-6, 6-4.
 
At No. 6 singles, Nguyen won 6-2, 6-2.

The Warriors will play No. 2 GVSU in the GLIAC Semifinal round on Saturday.
