Gary Bryce Retirement Recognition

Long-time assistant coach Pat Kent also honored.

DETROIT -- Prior to yesterday's GLIAC doubleheader, the Wayne State softball program recognized its five-member senior class.  Following that ceremony, WSU Director of Athletics Rob Fournier made a special presentation to retiring softball assistant coach Pat Kent.

Kent, who played four years as a Tartar, and was the first All-American in program history.  She was also the first softball player to be inducted into the WSU Athletic Hall of Fame.  The 2016 NFCA National Assistant Coach of the Year, Pat has served as a softball assistant coach at WSU for the last 38 seasons.

In addition, head coach Gary Bryce was recognized as a number of his coaching colleagues at WSU surprised coach Bryce during the pre-game ceremony.
