Men's Swim and Dive Defeated by Oakland

The Warriors will hit the pool again on Jan. 28 at Calvin.

ROCHESTER, Mich. -- The Wayne State University men's swim and dive team squared off against Oakland University for the second consecutive day, with the Warriors falling by a final score of 194.50-86.50.  

INDIVIDUAL RESULTS
Kyle Lovas (Shepherd, Mich. / Alma) kicked off the individual events with a second-place finish in the 1000 free, posting a time of 9:53.16.  Trevor Jones (Farmington, Mich.) followed that up with his own second-place finish in the 200 free, touching out in 1:41.02. 

After a strong meet the day prior, Franz Mueller (Brandenburg, Germany) picked up right where he left off, collecting second place in the 50 back with a time of 23.80.  He also took second in the 100 free, recording a time of 46.27.  

The 50 free was a strong event for the Warriors, as Luka Cvetko (Varazdin, Croatia) touched out in first and Michael Wolsek (Trenton, Mich.) tied for second.  Cvetko earned a B-cut time of 20.54, while Wolsek recorded a 21.06.  Later in the meet, Wolsek placed second (49.79) in the 100 fly, while Cvetko (50.81) took third.  

Clayton Kinnard (Dexter, Mich.) was strong in the 200 back, posting a second-place time of 1:56.30. 

In diving action, Jeffrey Cottingham, Jr. (Dearborn, Mich. / Edsel Ford) finished second in the three-meter dive and third in the one-meter dive.  Grant Porter (Haslett, Mich.) took third in the three-meter event.  Cottingham Jr. scored a 233.40 in the three-meter event and a 226.13 in the one-meter dive. 

RELAY RESULTS
The team of Cvetko, Wolsek, Jones and Mueller collected a first-place finish in the 400 free relay, posting a time of 3:02.10.  

In the 200 medley relay, the Warriors' quartet of Mueller, Kinnard, Wolsek and Cvetko recorded a 1:31.04, which was good for second place.

The Green and Gold will be back in action on Jan. 28 at Calvin.  The meet is set to begin at 5 PM.
