Noah Miller and Ryan Korolden Sweep Weekly GLIAC Awards

The duo helped propel the Warriors to a 6-0 record this past week.

DETROIT -- Noah Miller (Macomb, Mich. / University Liggett) and Ryan Korolden (Yale, Mich.) swept the GLIAC Player and Pitcher of the Week awards as announced by the league on Monday. The duo powered the Warriors into first place after a 6-0 week, including a four-game sweep of Saginaw Valley State.

Miller was named GLIAC Player of the Week after he hitting .556 (10-for-18) in six starts to go along with eight runs scored and six RBI's. Four of his 10 hits went for extra bases. He was also reliable in the field as he did not make an error in 16 chances at second base and was a part of four double plays.

Korolden kept SVSU off-balance on Sunday, working seven scoreless innings, and surrendering just three hits as he improved to 4-1. The right-hander struck out six batters and improved his GLIAC-best ERA to 1.49.

The honors are WSU's fifth and sixth weekly awards of the season. Karter Fitzpatrick was named GLIAC Pitcher of the Week on Feb. 22 and March 21, while Chris Tanderys earned GLIAC Player of the Week honors on March 7 and Ryan Korolden was tabbed as the Pitcher of the Week on March 14.
