DETROIT -- The Wayne State University men's tennis team, after compiling a 21-4 overall record along with claiming both the GLIAC regular-season title and tournament championship, has earned the top seed in the NCAA Midwest Region and will serve as one of two hosts for the NCAA Midwest Regional.  This is the first time in program history that WSU has been the top seed in the region.

Wayne State will host its regional on Monday and Tuesday, May 9-10 at either The Peachtree Tennis Club or the University of Detroit, depending on the weather.

The No. 1-seeded Warriors will host Lewis University on May 9 at 11 AM to open the tournament.  On the other side of the bracket, No. 4-Grand Valley State University will play No. 5-Ferris State University at 3 PM the same day.

The winners from the May 9th match-ups will battle the following day for a trip to the National Championships, which are being hosted at Sanlando Park in Altamonte Springs, Fla.

This is the Green and Gold's 12th appearance in the NCAA Tournament all-time and sixth under head coach Bryan Morrow.  The Warriors are 7-11 all-time in NCAA Tournament play, and are making their first appearance since 2019.
