GLIAC -- Wayne State University junior place-kicker
Griffin Milovanski (Saugatuck, Mich.) was selected GLIAC Special Teams Player of the Week for the final week of the 2023 campaign.
Milovanski was 4-of-5 on field goals with his only miss being wide right on a 55-yard attempt in Saturday's season finale at Ferris State. He made three field goals over 40 yards (42 and twice from 48 yards). Milovanski set a WSU single-season record with 16 field goals, and became just the third WSU kicker with four field goals in a game in the last 43 seasons. Eight of his made field goals this season were at least 40 yards.
He led WSU in scoring with 66 points this year, increasing his career total to 160, which ranks fourth all-time (he surpassed Matt Fishburn [1994-97] with his final three pointer against the Bulldogs) among WSU kickers. Only three kickers are listed among Wayne State's all-time top 10 scorers headlined by Joique Bell's 576 points, which ranks fourth in NCAA Division 2 history.
Milovanski's 31 career made field goals is fourth in program history trailing only Stefan Terleckyj (39, 2010-13), Paul Graham (38, 2014-18), and David Chudzinski (33, 2005-08).
