Marc Hull Named Special Teams Coordinator and Assistant Linebackers Coach

DETROIT -- Wayne State University first-year head football coach Terrence Isaac, Sr. has selected Marc Hull as Special Teams Coordinator and Assistant Linebackers Coach.

"Coach Hull has a wealth of experience and knowledge," sated Isaac.  "He's done a great job everywhere he has been."

Hull joins the Wayne State football coaching staff after spending the prior seven months as an assistant coach and co-Special Teams Coordinator at Bethany College, while also serving as the head women's flag football coach.  

He spent the spring and summer of 2025 as the linebackers coach and special teams coordinator for the Memphis Showboats of the United Football League.  Hull was the special teams coordinator and secondary coach at Valparaiso in 2024, after spending the previous two years as the linebackers coach and special teams coordinator for the Pittsburgh Maulers of the USFL.  While at Valpo, he mentored 2024 Stats Perform All-America Second Team punter Sam Johnson.  In 2023, the Maulers were co-North Division Champions as Hull tutored three All-Pro honorees in linebacker Kyahva Tezino, punt returner Isaiah Hennie and kickoff returner Josh Simmons.

Hull was on the Slippery Rock staff for seven years (2015-2021) serving as the linebackers coach and special teams coordinator.  During his time with the Rock, SRU made four NCAA playoff appearances, won two PSAC titles and were PSAC West Division champions four times.  Hull coached 15 All-PSAC players between kickers, punters and return specialists, including three who earned All-American status.

He was a graduate assistant coach primarily working with the secondary at Shippensburg for two years (2013-14).  Hull began his coaching career as the safeties and linebackers coach at West LA College for two years (2010-11) prior to spending the 2012 campaign at Kentucky Christian.

A native of Los Angeles, Calif., Hull earned a bachelor's degree in Social Science from San Diego State University in 2008, and a master's degree in Organizational Development and Leadership from Shippensburg University in 2014. He played in 28 games over his final three seasons as an Aztec with an interception against Portland State, and a fumble recovery for a touchdown vs. Air Force.

He and his wife, Brandi, have a daughter, Marley.
