DETROIT -- As Ernie Harwell would say, "It's looooooong gone!" The Wayne State University baseball program will host its fourth annual Uniprop Home Run Derby Fundraiser on Friday, October 13 at the Detroit Tigers' Comerica Park. The event is
FREE to attend, starts at 8 p.m. and spectators can get in through Gate D.
Each team will have a designated hitter that will hit as many home runs as possible in 60 seconds. For every additional $25 pledged, each team will receive an additional two seconds hitting, so every second counts.
All proceeds will go directly to the Wayne State University baseball team to assist with team priorities. In addition, the team of players that raises the most money and has the most home runs will earn special team rewards. Donate to help your favorite team gain more time.
Fans and supporters can show their support by clicking
HERE. The event has raised a total of $55,895, including $16,979 in
2020, $20,255 in
2021 and $18,661
last fall. If you prefer not to donate online, you can email WSU athletics Development Director
Carter Lotz at carterlotz@wayne.edu or call him at 313-577-5368.
