Drenth and Day Enter Second Day of ITA Cup

ROME, Ga. -- The Wayne State University men's tennis squad finished the first day of play at the ITA Cup. The tournament is hosted by Berry College with matches taking place at the Rome Tennis Courts.

In singles, Cedric Drenth (Sulzbach, Germany) would fall in the round of 16 to Cas de Ruiter (Harding). Drenth would claim the first set 6-4, but drop the last two 4-6 and 2-6. The senior is set to return to face Pedro Liborio (North Georgia) at 9:00 AM on Friday October 11.

On the doubles side, Drenth and his partner, George Day (Southampton, United Kingdom), defeated Adrian Solorzano and Cas de Ruiter (Harding) to move on to the quarterfinals. Drenth and Day will compete against Luis Iriarte and Eduardo Cohen (Saint Leo) on Friday October 11 at 3:00 PM.
