DETROIT -- Riding a three-match league winning streak, the Wayne State University volleyball team (10-10 overall, 7-3 GLIAC) will be at No. 2 Ferris State (22-0 overall, 11-0 GLIAC) on Friday night at 6 p.m. and Davenport (9-13 overall, 5-6 GLIAC) late on Saturday afternoon at 5 p.m.

GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week
Kayla Giroux (Flat Rock, Mich.) was named GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week on Monday for the third time in her already illustrious career and first time this season. Giroux has now been honored by the league four times since becoming a Warrior, including three offensive nods and one defensive. Last week, Giroux registered a .585 hitting percentage in a pair of Warrior victories over Michigan Tech on Friday and Northern Michigan on Saturday, both of which were sweeps. The junior racked up 31 kills without a single attack error on 53 total attempts while playing without an attack error in back-to-back showings for just the second time in her career and first time since her freshman campaign.
Last Time Out - No. 9 Ferris State - Sept. 21 (0-3 L:Â 21-25, 18-25, 18-25)
- Ferris State's offense hit .372 with 52 kills and 10 errors on 113 total attacks.
- Wayne State responded with a .273 clip of its own, 41 kills, 11 mishaps and 110 swings.
- WSU's best individual period for efficiency came in the opening stanza at .350.
- That set, Wayne State rattled off 18 kills and only four errors on 40 total attacks.
- The Warriors didn't record a service ace for the first time since Sept. 11, 2021 at Southern Indiana.

Kayla Dulgar (Warsaw, Ohio / River View) notched her third double-double of the season and second in her last three matches.
- Against Ferris State, the sophomore accounted for 35 assists and 12 digs in three sets.
- Giroux continued to play well with a .524 hitting percentage, 12 kills and just one error on 21 swings.

Molly Miller (Oxford, Mich. [Madonna]) also tallied 12 kills with four errors on 31 total attacks for a clip of .258.

Leigha Baldwin (Perrysburg, Ohio / Perrysburg [Purdue Fort Wayne]) turned in an efficient performance at .333 (8-2-18).
Last Time Out - Davenport - Sept. 20 (3-0 W:Â -16, -21, -17)
- Wayne State came out of the gates red hot hitting .519 in the first set.
- The Warriors notched 16 kills to just two errors on 27 total attacks in that period.
- The opening stanza was also Davenport's best offensively at .167.
- In that set, the Panthers accounted for 13 kills and eight mishaps on 30 swings.
- Miller paced all players in kills with 15 (.323 hitting percentage), her fifth outing with 15 or more this season.
- In the middle, Giroux was at it again with a .615 clip thanks to nine kills, one error and 13 total attacks.
- Giroux was impactful above the net as well with match-high seven blocks.
- Not to be forgotten though,
Ella Uganski (Jenison, Mich.) hit .500 (6-1-10) and
Leigha Baldwin was at .286 (5-1-14).
- Also with a match high for Wayne State were
Kendyl Andrews (Flushing, Mich. - 15 digs) and
Carly Rodman (Rochester Hills, Mich. / Rochester [Rochester University]) - three service aces).
- Wayne State snapped a four-match skid against Davenport.
- Each of the Warriors' last three victories over the Panthers have come in Detroit.
Leading the Warriors
Starting on the offensive side of the ball, Wayne State is paced by Miller (280 kills, .227, 27 service aces), Giroux (274 kills, .436), Dulgar (743 assists) and
Maya Wegand (Kaukauna, Wis. / Little Chute - 22 aces). Switching over to defense, the Warriors on top statistically include Andrews (265 digs) and Giroux, again (90 total blocks).
