GLIAC -- Barbara Munoz (Yumbo, Colombia / Comfandi Yumbo), Julio Osuna (Tijuana, Mexico / Instituto Mexico [Indianapolis]) and Wen Wadsworth-Curcuru (Kalamazoo, Mich. / Loy Norrix) of the Wayne State University swimming & diving squads were recognized by the GLIAC on Tuesday afternoon.  The three honors come after their performances at Davenport's Don Kimble Invitational over the weekend.

Munoz was named GLIAC Swimmer of the Week for the third time in her career and first time this season.  Munoz won four events, three as an individual, at the Don Kimble Invite.  Munoz touched the wall first in the 200 fly (2:01.20), 200 free (1:50.15) and 400 IM (4:24.61).  For her relay victory, the grad student swam the opening leg of the Warriors' first-place 400 free relay quartet that was clocked at 3:27.13.  Munoz's week wasn't done there, though, as she was also fifth in the 1650 free (17:26.49) to go along with swimming the third leg of the 400 medley relay (second - 3:51.21) and first leg of the 800 free relay (second - 7:37.81).

Osuna garnered GLIAC Diver of the Week honors for the second time already this season on Tuesday.  Osuna won both boards over the weekend including a score of 609.70 at one meter and 580.50 at three meters.

Wadsworth-Curcuru also received GLIAC Diver of the Week distinction for the second instance this season.  Wadsworth-Curcuru stood atop the podium for both boards on the west side thanks to a mark of 408.30 at one meter and 410.85 at three meters.

Those three and their WSU teammates won't compete in their next event for 41 days as they'll host Saginaw Valley State inside the Matthaei on Saturday, Jan. 4 at 1 p.m.
