Warrior Run-A-Thon Breaks Donation Record

DETROIT -- The Wayne State University cross country and track & field programs under the direction of head coach Grant Lofdahl held their Fifth Annual Run-A-Thon in early August.

Over 120 student-athletes, coaches and administrators participated in the first four years of the event resulting in more than 2,000 miles either being run or biked.  In 2024, over 725 miles were run and biked by participants. bringing the five-year event total to more than 2,725 miles either being run or biked.

This year's event established records by raising $18,173 from 346 donors. The previous records were set during the 2023 event as the programs brought in just over $14,000.

With the 2024 Run-A-Thon fundraiser wrapped up, more than $68,000 has been raised since the event's inception.  Money raised during this year's event has been used towards purchasing brand-new Nike competition uniforms for the WSU Cross Country and Track & Field programs.
