EMPORIA, Kan. -- Wayne State University redshirt senior Thailyia Christensen (Flushing, Mich.), who was making her first appearance at the NCAA Division 2 national championship meet, finished 13th out of 20 competitors in the 3,000m steeplechase.

Christensen recorded a time of 10:54.55 to miss qualifying for Friday's finals by one spot.  The top four in each heat, plus the next four best times advanced to the finals.

She finished third out of the five runners from the Midwest Region participating in the steeplechase.
