Two Women's Indoor Track and Field Athletes Earn All-Region Recognition

Gordon and Warren recognized for outstanding performances.

DETROIT -- Wayne State University graduate student Emily Gordon (Northville, Mich.) and junior Nicole Warren (Saline, Mich.) have received USTFCCCA All-Midwest Region honors in the mile and triple jump, respectively, for having one of the top five marks in the region during the 2025-26 indoor track and field season.

Gordon earned All-Region recognition for the second consecutive season after garnering All-Region accolades in the 800m run a year ago.  She posted a season-best (and career-best) mile time of 4:55.53 to win the event at the W-C-W Invitational hosted by Saginaw Valley State on Feb. 7.  In the 800m run this year, Gordon was ranked No. 23 nationally with a season-best time of 2:10.06.  She just missed an All-Region certificate in the 800m run by less than a second (2:09.10 was the fifth-ranked time in the region).

Warren won the triple jump at the GLIAC Indoor Championships last month with a career-best distance of 11.73m (38-06.00).  That mark ranked fourth in the Midwest during the 2025-26 campaign, and the best distance by a GLIAC student-athlete by over a foot.

The WSU women's outdoor track and field squad will commence its outdoor season at the Washington University Distance Carnival on March 26-27 in St. Louis, Mo.
