DETROIT -- The Wayne State University swimming & diving programs will round out their 2024-25 regular season schedule on Saturday at 1 p.m. against Division III Calvin for Senior Day 2025.
Coach's Corner
'We are looking forward to hosting the Calvin Knights as we have our senior and parent recognition," said head coach
Sean Peters. "This year, we celebrate 13 amazing seniors and fifth-year student-athletes, and it really should be a great meet. Calvin has become a top tier Division III program, and I have a great deal of respect for them and their staff. I am excited to see some great performances in our final meet, before the postseason meets."
Scouting the Opponent
Calvin is coached by 29th-year leader, Dan Gelderloos. Combined, Gelderloos has led the Knights to 24 MIAA Titles including 17 on the women's side and seven on the men's. He has also paced the Calvin men's team to three top-10 national team finishes and the women's program to five of them. In the classroom, his teams have produced 15 Academic All-Americans. They have also earned the MIAA Team GPA Award a combined 21 times for producing a cumulative team grade point average of 3.30 or above. Gelderloos is assisted by Chris Sullivan, Mitch Schroder, Anne Wiliamson (Diving Coach), Jake Boender and Helena Tolic.
National Spotlight
According to the CSCAA's latest polls, the Warrior men are ranked 21st in the country while the women check in at No. 19, both of which are consistent with the previous top 25 released in December. For the Knights, they're seventh on the men's side (up from ninth) and 17th on the women's (down from 15th).
