FROM HEAD COACH GRANT LOFDAHL
"It was a bittersweet day for the women. On the one hand, we had a true freshman and a redshirt freshman go all-conference and many people set lifetime PRs.  On the other hand, we certainly aren't happy with a fourth-place finish.  We set a goal in August to finish in the top-2 for the fourth consecutive year, and came up short today."

"Ava (Peters) ran like a seasoned veteran in her very first championship race at the collegiate level.  We don't list school records in cross country because every course is different, but I believe her time of 21:34 is the fastest ever run by a freshman in the storied history of WSU cross country.  Ella (Showerman) had an incredible race to grab the last All-GLIAC spot, and her progress over the past two months has been astonishing.  I am very proud of Robin (Bresolin) for her effort today and for the career she's had so far, and Emilee (Rudlaff) and Taylor (Hopkins) showed some grit toughness out there. Fantastic race and season for Meagan Verellen and for Reese Hansen as well."

"We are proud of the effort and fight the team showed today, and even more proud of the team culture we've built and the way they treat each other like family.  This team has not run their best race yet, and the goal is to put it all together at regionals in two weeks."

UP NEXT
WSU's women's cross country squad will next be in action on Saturday, November 8, for the NCAA Midwest Regional Championship in Kenosha, Wis., at the Wayne E. Dannehl National Cross Country Course.
