DETROIT -- The Wayne State University women's indoor track and field squad will head to Saginaw Valley State University this Saturday and Sunday for the 2025 GLIAC Indoor Track and Field Championships.
The 13th edition of the Warriors competing in the conference championships has WSU aiming for a top-two finish for the first time in program history. Wayne State's best finish was third in 2022, while the most points accumulated was 81 in 2023 with a fourth-place finish.
QUOTING COACH LOFDAHL
"This indoor track season has been a very good one for our team, and they can make it a truly special season if they compete to the best of their ability this weekend. Grand Valley as always will be a heavy favorite, and Northern Michigan, Parkside, and Saginaw Valley will be very tough as well.
"Our program bests currently stand at third place and 81 points, and the goal is to eclipse both of those marks this weekend. We certainly also hope to crown some GLIAC event champions, and to break a few more school records on the way to achieving our other goals. This team has great chemistry, excellent leadership, and we feel like they are a clutch group as well. This should be a very exciting GLIAC meet!"
