CANTON, Ohio -- The Wayne State University women's golf team secured its highest finish of the spring on Tuesday afternoon placing second among nine squads at Walsh's Cav Classic. Individually, the Warriors were paced by
Sabel Imesch (Grosse Pointe Farms, Mich. / Grosse Pointe South) and
Claudia Portillo (Madrid, Spain / IES Ortega y Gassett), both of which were part of the three-way tie-for-fourth.
Wayne State (of 56 total golfers)
T4. Imesch, 155 (+11, 75-80)
T4. Portillo, 155 (+11, 77-78)
T7.

Wayne State has now had multiple players place among the top 10 in an event four times this season. Portillo and Kuo were both inside the top 10 in back-to-back fall tournaments before Portillo was joined by Wygonik and Imesch in the final fall event, so this is the spring's first occurrence.
