Men's Tennis Begins Season at Everybody vs. Cancer Invitational

DETROIT -- The Wayne State University men's tennis squad will open the 2025-26 season in Toledo, Ohio, at the Everybody vs. Cancer Invitational.  The tournament will span over three days (September 19-21) with matches taking place at the UT Varsity Tennis Courts.

The Green and Gold captured a 15-8 ledger last season, making it to the NCAA Midwest Regional for ninth time under the direction of 18th-year head coach Bryan Morrow.  During last year's Everybody vs. Cancer Invitational, WSU student-athletes collected an 11-8 mark in singles and a 2-2 record in doubles during the two days of competition.  This will be the third consecutive year that the Warriors compete at the tournament.

Wayne State will be joined by six schools as the University of Chicago, Case Western Reserve University, Holy Cross College, Tiffin University, Youngstown State University, and host Toledo.  The Green and Gold will see teams from different levels of competition, as UT and YSU are NCAA Division I institutions, Tiffin competes in Division II, Chicago and CWRU represent Division III, and Holy Cross hails from the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA).
