Men's Tennis Announces Fall 2026 Schedule

The Warriors will begin their fall slate in September.

DETROIT -- 19th-year head coach Bryan Morrow and the Wayne State University men's tennis program have announced their fall schedule for the 2026-27 campaign.  The Warriors will compete in three tournaments this fall, including one at home and two on the road, with players also having an opportunity to advance to the ITA National Championships.  

"We have a very well-rounded schedule for this fall that will help prepare us for the spring," said Morrow.  "It should do a good job testing the players, and I am very excited to get to work and see what we can do this fall." 

Wayne State will begin the 2026 season by heading to Toledo, Ohio, to compete in the Everybody vs. Cancer Invitational on Sept. 25.  The Warriors then head to Caledonia, Mich., on Oct. 17 for the ITA Midwest Regional Championships. 

"The Toledo tournament is always one of our favorites.  We get to play a lot of good tennis, which is very helpful in preparing us for ITA Regionals," said Morrow.  "The ITA Regional is being played much later in the fall season this year, which gives us some more time to get our doubles teams prepared and comfortable.  I am looking forward to doing well at that event and have hopes of advancing some players to the ITA Nationals in Alabama."

Players who qualify at the Midwest Regional will have the opportunity to advance to the ITA National Championships at the Tuscaloosa Tennis Center in Tuscaloosa, Ala. 

Wayne State wraps up its fall schedule by hosting the annual Mike Kneale Doubles Tournament on Oct. 30 at the WSU Tennis Courts. 

"Mike Kneale was such a big part of the growth of our tennis program so it is awesome to have an event like this, and we are looking forward to it.  We are going to be able to try out different pairings and play a ton of doubles, which will be great for us to do to wrap our fall season up," said Morrow. 

Following the fall competition schedule, the Warriors will begin spring competition in January with an exhibition match at Western Michigan.
