GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- The Wayne State University volleyball team (8-2 overall, 2-1 GLIAC) suffered just its second loss of the young 2025 campaign on Friday night, 3-0 at Davenport (6-4 overall, 3-0 GLIAC) inside the DU Student Center. The Warriors hit .238 for the match, but the Panthers countered with a .298 output, the highest by a WSU opponent so far this season.

HOW IT HAPPENED (23-25, 26-28, 19-25)
- As mentioned above, Wayne State hit .238 for the match with 46 kills and 17 errors on 122 total attacks.
- Davenport's .298 clip included 47 kills and 10 mishaps on 124 swings.
- The Warriors' most efficient set was the first at .270 (13, 3, 37).
- The Panthers' best period offensively was also the opening stanza at .429 (17, 2, 35).
- WSU was ahead by as many as eight in the first set, 11-3.
- The Green and Gold's advantage late in the second was six, 22-16.

Paige Giehtbrock (11 kills, .258) and
Kayla Giroux (10 kills, .200) each reached double-digit kills.
- Behind those two,
Leigha Baldwin (nine kills, .467) and
Katerina Stout (eight kills, .538) were both very efficient.
- Also on offense,
Kayla Dulgar (38 assists),
Abby Macalaguim (two service aces) and
Lauren Essenpreis (two aces) were at the forefront.
- Defensively above the net, Giroux tallied Wayne State's lone solo block.
- Dulgar and Stout each notched a pair of block assists as well.
- In the dig department,
Kendyl Andrews was on top with 16 and Macalaguim added 11.
