KENTWOOD, Mich. -- Beginning the 2026-27 season at the Davenport Invitational on Friday and Saturday, the Wayne State University women's swimming and diving program won nine of the 19 events it competed in. The Warriors paced the five-team field with a total of 1,029.5 points.
"So here is how I look at first meets, if you perform the best all year at them, then we have a long way to get nowhere," said head coach
Sean Peters. "I am okay with just being okay at them. I want to grow, progress and swim fast throughout the year and fastest at the end of the year. I saw some good, some not good, and all that can be improved, and that's what's good about them... to find what to improve. Meet one done, onto the next one."
