Women's Swimming and Diving Signs Four More Freshmen For 2026-27

DETROIT -- Wayne State University women's swimming and diving head coach Sean Peters, who enters his 30th season this fall, has announced his fourth batch of recruits for the 2026-27 season.  This quartet started their collegiate careers this past Monday when classes started at WSU.  They are Leanna Dusenbury (Rochester Hills, Mich. / Stoney Creek), Taelyn Freise (Novi, Mich.), Teagan McCallion (Whitmore Lake, Mich. / Ann Arbor Skyline) and Delanie Rimes (Kalamazoo, Mich. / Central).

High School:  A 2026 graduate of Stoney Creek High School ... was a four-year varsity swimmer for coach Erica Thomas ... helped the Cougars to back-to-back runner-up finishes in the Oakland Activities Association White Division in 2022 and 2023 ... competed in four events at the 2025 MHSAA Division 1 state championship meet - 100 back, 200 medley relay, 200 free relay and 400 free relay ... participated in both the 200 medley relay and 400 free relay at the 2024 state meet ... helped SCHS finish 18th (2025) and 31st (2024) at the MHSAA D1 State Championship her last two seasons ... posted a personal-best 100 back time of 1:00.55 at the 2025 OAA Red Division meet ... recorded a personal-best 200 back time of 2:10.68 at the 2026 Michigan ULTRA Championships ... swims during the summer for the Utica Shelby Swim Team and coach Erica Thomas.

High School:  A 2026 graduate of Novi High School ... was a three-year letterwinner for coach Donald Mason, who was inducted into the WSU Athletic Hall of Fame in 1998 ... competed at the MHSAA Division 1 state finals each of her last two seasons placing 15th (303.30) in 2024 and 10th (315.30) in 2025 ... improved her place in the Kensington Lakes Activities Association (KLAA) West Championships from 11th to fourth to second with a personal-best 11 dive score of 329.05 ... served as a diving team captain as a senior ... earned KLAA Scholar-Athlete recognition every year ... also competed in gymnastics in 2022 and 2023 and was a regional qualifier in multiple events each year ... graduated with a 4.22 cumulative GPA.
