DETROIT -- Playing in a loaded 19-team Doc Spragg Fall Invitational. the Wayne State University men's golf team is in second place following 36 holes of play on Monday at the Findlay Country Club. The Warriors, one of three squads under par, carded a 10-under 566 (281-285), just two strokes behind Missouri-St. Louis in the top spot.
"Up and down the lineup, the boys played great," said head coach
Mike Horn. "I'm very proud of every single guy, including Jacob (Palomares) playing as an individual. I'm really impressed on how we handled not only some adversity, but how we handled a very long day in hot conditions. The golf course was difficult at times and the boys really persevered and I couldn't be happier with day one. Now day two we will have to be on our game to try to pick up a victory."
