Men's Golf Wins Marshall Masters; Pollack Claims Medalist Honors

Wayne State's top team carded a 36-hole total of 568, including rounds of 288 and 280.

MARSHALL, Mich. -- The Wayne State University men's golf squad claimed its second tournament title of the young season on Saturday, winning Albion's Marshall Masters among a field of nine teams.  Individually, the entire event was paced by Will Pollack (Grand Rapids, Mich. / Forest Hills Northern) as the sophomore earned the first Medalist Honor of his career.

"An outstanding day today from the A team," said head coach Mike Horn.  "Hats off to Will Pollack for his first collegiate win after shooting a 140 for the tournament.  Great rounds today from Jacob (Palomares), Jack (Julian), Andrew (Daily), Will, and Luke (Maher).  This was a great tune-up for the coming three days at Findlay and we will need all of our guys playing just as well if not better to achieve our goals there.  I thought we had some improvements putting and with our iron play."
