DETROIT -- The Wayne State University women's soccer program earned its fourth consecutive GLIAC Player of the Week accolade as freshman forward
Sabrina Gaul (Troy, Mich.) was recognized by the GLIAC. Her offensive honor came after helping lead the Warriors to an outright regular-season championship.
Gaul played a key role in Wayne State's championship-clinching weekend, scoring twice in Thursday's victory over Michigan Tech, including the game-winning goal. She recorded three shots on goal, while playing 41 minutes. The freshman continued her scoring streak on Saturday, finding the back of the net for the opening goal in a 2-2 draw against Ferris State to help secure the outright GLIAC Regular-Season Championship for WSU. Gaul played 71 minutes and scored on her lone shot attempt. The rookie finished the weekend with three goals, accounting for three of her four goals on the season during the final weekend of conference play.
