The Warriors will host Michigan Tech on Thursday for Senior Day, before welcoming Ferris State on Saturday.

DETROIT -- The Wayne State University women's soccer team (11-1-4 overall, 7-1-4 GLIAC) will close out the 2026 regular season with two home matches this week. The Warriors will host Michigan Tech (1-12-3 overall, 1-8-3 GLIAC) on Thursday, Oct. 29, at 3 p.m. for Senior Day, before welcoming Ferris State (6-6-4 overall, 4-5-3 GLIAC) on Saturday, Oct. 31, at 4 p.m.  Both matches will be played at the WSU Soccer Complex.

The Warriors enter the final weekend first in the GLIAC standings with 25 conference points, holding a three-point lead over Grand Valley State.  WSU has clinched a spot in the GLIAC Tournament and will look to finish the regular season strong before postseason play begins.  Wayne State is ranked No. 2 in the Midwest Region by both the United Soccer Coaches and the NCAA NPI Rankings. QUOTING HEAD COACH DOUG STEINARD
"We are looking forward to honoring our graduate-students and seniors on Thursday.  Michigan Tech is playing some of their best soccer right now and will be a difficult task.

"It feels like we played Ferris a very long time ago.  They are a very organized and well coached team with a ton of talent.  There is also always a last day of the season madness.  We love that we will get to wrap of the regular season at home in front of our fans."
