DETROIT -- George Day (Southampton, United Kingdom / Peter Symonds College) of the No. 23-ranked Wayne State University men's tennis team has been named Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Men's Tennis Athlete of the Week for the second time in his career, as announced by the league office.

Day earns the honor after helping the Warriors to a 6-1 win over Walsh University.  In doubles action, Day and his partner Thomas Mathys (Grimisuat, Switzerland / ECCG - Martigny) downed Lukas Kohler and Ethan Milgan 6-3.

In the No. 1 singles position, the sophomore dropped the first set 6-4 to WU's Trias Monells and found himself trailing 4-0 in the second.  The 2025 All-GLIAC honoree rallied in the second set, posting a 6-4 win followed by a 6-2 triumph in the third to claim victory.
